Carrie Barr

Carrie Barr is president of Casualty Solutions at Verisk, providing compliance services for many of the world’s largest insurance companies, third-party administrators, and Fortune 1000 companies.

Her leadership focuses on providing strategic vision and empowering employees, innovating the claims process, and partnering with clients to optimize claims outcomes. 

Before taking on her current role, Carrie was the senior vice president of sales, a position she held after serving as chief operating officer of Casualty Solutions and many other leadership roles since joining Verisk in 2010. Prior to Verisk, she worked in national sales at Coventry Health Care.

Carrie was named one of 2015’s Women to Watch by Business Insurance and has repeatedly won the President’s Club and Circle of Excellence sales awards at Verisk. She holds a BS in business from Duquesne University, where she was an All-American Scholar, made the National Dean’s List, and received the full scholarship Chancellors Award.

She was an early graduate of Verisk’s Leadership Excellence program, offered through the University of Virginia and Harvard Business School.

She’s a member of many claims and insurance organizations, including RIMS (Risk & Insurance Management Society) and Kids Chance of America, which funds education for children with parents injured or killed in workplace accidents.

Carrie supports and fundraises for the Bear Necessities charity for children with cancer, and she and her son volunteer with the Terrapin Nesting Program and local animal rescues.
