A new VINMASTER® product, VINMASTER–VINterpret Safety, is now available to deliver information on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) available in 2012 and newer private passenger vehicles. Based on customer feedback, the product uses the 10-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) to provide this new level of detail on vehicles included in VINMASTER.
The ADAS detail includes technologies such as:
- collision warning and mitigation
- lane departure warning and mitigation
- rollover mitigation
- park assist
- rear camera
The information is provided in an ISO coding set that indicates whether each feature is standard or optional by 10-digit VIN.
Electronic delivery of ADAS information will enable insurers to include it in proprietary company discounts or modeling. For ISO Personal Auto Rules customers, by the fourth quarter of 2018, more information will be available on the impact of ADAS features, and filing plans will be announced. Additional technologies are planned to be built into the product as they become more widespread.
VINMASTER–VINterpret Safety is designed to assist the implementation and maintenance of automated rating systems. Pricing is based on a company’s current ISO affiliation.
