MODEL CONTEXT PROTOCOL
Ask Claude for the hail and wind history at a property address and get an answer from Benchmark® data in seconds. Type the question the way you’d ask a colleague. Claude runs the lookup.
Connect Benchmark weather history to Claude so property claims teams can quickly check hail and wind events at a location using a plain-language question.
Returns property-level hail and wind event history from Benchmark inside a Claude conversation.
Property claims managers and adjusters who check weather history during claim review.
An active Benchmark subscription and any Claude plan.
Nothing beyond your existing Benchmark and Claude subscriptions.
The Verisk Benchmark connector lets Claude access Benchmark weather history within a conversation. You ask a question in plain language. Claude queries Benchmark and answers with the events on record for that location.
It runs on Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside data sources. Nothing installs on your machine, and nothing changes about how your Benchmark data is licensed or governed. The connector reads the same data your enterprise subscription already covers.
For a single property, you can review years of hail and wind activity in one exchange instead of pulling separate reports and comparing them side by side.
Write the question the way you’d say it out loud. A few examples that come up consistently:
Claude selects the right tool for the question. You never need to know what the tools are called.
Check a reported lose date against the hail and wind record while you’re still in the claim, instead of requesting a report and coming back to it later.
Ask for years of activity at a single address in one prompt and surface the earlier event that explains pre-existing damage.
Run the same question against a list of claim locations and get back the files worth a second look.
Ask for a table, CSV, Excel file, or PDF, then attach it to the claim file or send it on.
Property claims teams handling hail and wind losses.
Triage incoming hail and wind claims against the weather record and see which files need a closer look before you assign them.
Compare what the insured reported against the hail and wind history at the property, and document the answer in the file before you pick up the phone.
Benchmark is Verisk’s property-level natural hazard history database. Benchmark reports cover hail, straight-line wind, lightning, and hurricane wind for locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Property claims professionals use Benchmark to confirm date of loss, identify pre-existing damage, supporting a catastrophe or non-catastrophe designation, and flag claims that warrant a closer fraud review.
