Brand transition strengthens claims decision support for Nordic insurers as part of Verisk’s European claims strategy
STOCKHOLM, 20 April 2026 — Mavera, a Verisk business and long‑established provider of claims decision support technology in the Nordic insurance market, has announced it will operate as Verisk.
Operating under the Verisk brand makes it easier for insurers to discover the breadth of solutions and innovations Verisk has built for the global insurance ecosystem and drive continued growth. The move also underscores how Mavera’s Nordic claims expertise is deepened by Verisk’s broader data, analytics, and technology capabilities across claims, catastrophe and risk modeling, and specialty insurance solutions. Verisk (Nasdaq: VRSK) is a strategic data analytics and technology partner to the global insurance industry.
“By bringing our Nordic operations together under the Verisk brand while retaining strong product identities, we are supporting a more connected European insurance claims ecosystem,” said Samer Abou Jaoudé, Managing Director, Verisk Claims Solutions Europe. “For insurers across the Nordic region, the move also reinforces Verisk’s long‑term commitment to claims innovation and supports closer alignment between local claims expertise and Verisk’s global insurance analytics platform.”
As part of the brand transition, Verisk establishes new leadership to support the ongoing development of its European claims business, with a continued focus on casualty claims and decision support. The change took effect on 1 April.
Johan Larsson, previously Chief Product Officer of Mavera, has assumed the role of Managing Director, Verisk Casualty Claims Nordics. He will lead the strategic direction and organic growth of Verisk’s casualty claims product line in the Nordics.
“As a natural step in the growth of how we support our clients and the insurance industry, we are evolving our Nordic leadership to maintain strong focus on casualty claims decision support while enabling broader expansion across the region,” Johan Larsson said.
Larsson added that, “With Mavera DSS at the core of our casualty claims offering, this leadership evolution allows us to sharpen our product focus while enhancing our support for insurers across the Nordic market and the broader European market.”
Larsson assumes this role as Roine Gabrielsson, previously Chief Executive Officer of Mavera, prepares to leave Verisk in a few months. Gabrielsson and Larsson are working together to ensure a smooth transition. Verisk thanks Gabrielsson for his contributions to expanding the company’s presence in the Nordic insurance market.
Nordic claims capabilities within Verisk’s global platform
The claims capabilities of Mavera DSS are positioned within Verisk’s global portfolio of data, analytics, and technology solutions. Mavera Decision Support System (Mavera DSS) will retain its product name and continue to serve as a core component of Verisk’s casualty claims offering in Europe.
Founded in 2008, Mavera is a recognized provider of SaaS‑based, data‑driven solutions for managing complex personal injury claims in the Nordic insurance market. Under the Verisk brand, its claims decision support capabilities sit alongside Verisk’s broader global resources, supporting collaboration and continuity for insurers operating across markets.
