LEHI, Utah — Tuesday, February 9, 2021 — Verisk Elevate 2021 kicked off today with four informative keynotes calling for a new urgency in accelerating the pace of change, developing innovative technology, and working together to build the insurance ecosystem of the future.
- Calling last year a “pivotal moment in history,” Xactware President Mike Fulton said, “2020 changed the way we think and, in turn, dramatically accelerated the adoption of many types of technology.”
- Verisk Chief Operating Officer Mark Anquillare said the insurance industry is in a race that will determine who owns the future insurance market. “Whoever is first to develop and use a smart, wholly connected, and integrated insurance ecosystem wins the future insurance marketplace,” he said.
- VIS Claims President Richard Della Rocca showed several examples of new Vai technology from Verisk that is open, extensible, secure, and integrated. This includes Vai technology that recognizes content items in a home and helps add them to an inventory, automated estimating, and AI-driven photo analysis that catches fraud.
- PCS Director of Operations, Ted Gregory discussed the dramatic weather events of 2020, noting both the unusual variety of catastrophes and the disturbing long-term trend.

Numerous industry experts and leaders are presenting at this year’s conference, including Phil Klotzbach, a Colorado State University research scientist who specializes in studying and predicting hurricanes; Brian Haisley, claims and risk engineering director for State Auto; Mathew Allen, founder of The AdjusterTV Network; and Robert Hartwig, a professor of finance at University of South Carolina.
Verisk Elevate 2021 will also feature a keynote by Steve Young, a Hall of Fame NFL quarterback who played with the San Francisco 49ers. Many leaders from Verisk will also speak, such as Carlos Martins, senior vice president of ISO Claims Solutions; Rob Lewis, president of ISO Claims Partners; Warren Erickson, vice president of Service Software; Tom Johansmeyer, head of PCS Verisk; Jeff Taylor, president of 3-D Visual Intelligence at Verisk; and Karthik Balakrishnan, senior vice president of ISO.
Elevate 2021 also includes a Technology in Default Servicing event for users of Xactware’s XactPRM, a product designed for professionals who oversee, manage, repair, and maintain bank-owned or foreclosed properties; XactRemodelGO, an estimating solution for professional remodelers; and Property Prez Wizard, a work order management solution.
