Dr. Ahmed Abdelhady is a Senior Engineer on Verisk’s Atmospheric Perils Vulnerability team. Since joining Verisk in 2021, he has developed and validated inland flood and storm surge vulnerability models across multiple regions worldwide. His work spans exposure analysis, engineering-based loss-function development, real-time event modeling, and post-event damage reconnaissance. Ahmed earned his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, where his research focused on assessing the resilience of buildings and communities to hurricane hazards. He has an established publication record in natural hazard risk, structural vulnerability, and community resilience.
