Auto History Score is purpose-built for insurers using modeled data from the ISO Statistical Database, the industry’s largest statistical database. Underpinning this model are data points correlated with future claims, which are consolidated into a score from 0-100, providing an easily digestible measure of risk across all major coverages. This can supplement traditional rating tools, such as vehicle symbols, to refine rating segmentation and help insurers compete more effectively—while avoiding risks that don’t meet their underwriting standards.

Auto History Score functions within Verisk’s personal auto underwriting and rating support ecosystem, providing a powerful analytic to help support digital transformation and a data-forward strategy by delivering critical insights earlier in the quote workflow. This can help auto insurers reach faster underwriting decisions, better align premium to risk, avoid adverse selection, and increase their competitive edge.

Verisk plans to file Auto History Score with state regulators in the coming months.
