Constantine P. Iordanou has been one of Verisk's directors since 2001. His 42-year insurance career included leadership positions with public and private companies and industry-leading associations.
Until his retirement in 2019, Mr. Iordanou was chairman and CEO of Arch Capital Group Inc. Before joining Arch as one of its founders, Mr. Iordanou held numerous roles at Zurich Financial Services, including senior executive vice president of group operations and business development, chief executive officer of Zurich American, and chief executive officer of Zurich North America.
Before joining Zurich in March 1992, he was president of the Commercial Casualty division of the Berkshire Hathaway Group and senior vice president of American Home Insurance Company, a member of American International Group.
Mr. Iordanou received the 1999 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. In 2016, Fortune magazine named him one of the top 50 businesspeople of the year, and Institutional Investor named him the best insurance industry Mid Corp CEO in 2017. He was named the Insurance Leader of the Year by St. John’s University School of Risk Management and received the lifetime achievement award from Reactions magazine in 2017.
He holds a BS in aerospace engineering from New York University.
Mr. Iordanou has been chairman of the board of directors of Vantage Group Holdings since November 2020. He’s previously served as chairman of the American Insurance Association (AIA) and the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR).
He’s a founding member of both the Pancyprian Association of America and FAITH, a charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of Greek Americans through education.
