Verisk is honored to share the following important updates showcasing our industry thought leadership! Join me in congratulating Sid Wong, J.D., and Kate Riordan, J.D., regarding their respective roles with the below noted industry groups as follows:
Sid Wong, J.D. – MARC Coalition

First, a big round of applause for Sid Wong, J.D., Verisk’s VP, Policy, who has been re-elected as an At-Large representative to the Medicare Advocacy Recovery Coalition’s (MARC’s) Executive Committee. As noted on MARC’s website, MARC is “a national Coalition advocating for the improvement of the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) programs … and is dedicated to building collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with beneficiaries, affected companies, and a wide range of other stakeholders to work with the Congress and government agencies to recommend solutions and implement MSP reforms that will improve the process for all, especially Medicare beneficiaries.”[1]
In his role as an At Large representative, Sid works together with the MARC Coalition to evaluate issues, develop solutions, and improve the MSP compliance process. Sid has been with Verisk for 16 years and currently serves as the VP, Policy. In this role, Sid helps Verisk customers navigate MSP compliance through education, process development, and thought leadership. He also works to develop impactful solutions to emerging MSP issues and ensures that Verisk’s policies, products, and services continue to align with the changing MSP landscape. In addition, Sid releases regular articles on MSP compliance matters, provides client training, and speaks at national industry events.
Kate Riordan, J.D. – MSPN

Second, hats off to Kate Riordan, J.D. Verisk’s VP, Analytics Initiatives & Compliance, who was recently elected as President for The National Medicare Secondary Payer Network (MSPN). Per MSPN’s website, this group “is the only non-profit association exclusively addressing the issues and challenges of the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute and its impact on workers' compensation and liability settlements … The National MSP Network is a forum for the exchange of ideas and is a leading resource for information and news in this constantly evolving area of practice.”[2]
In her role as President, Kate provides strategic leadership for the organization’s mission to advance education, collaboration, and best practices related to Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance. This role is responsible for setting organizational priorities, guiding the Board of Directors, and ensuring effective governance and financial stewardship of the Network. Additionally, Kate will be responsible for fostering dialogue between federal agencies, industry stakeholders, and partner organizations regarding how CMS policy and updates impact MSP compliance. At Verisk, Kate is responsible for implementing analytics initiatives across workers’ compensation programs. Most recently, Kate oversaw the creation and go to market plan for Discovery Navigator, an AI powered tool that automatically enables identification and retrieval of key data points within large unstructured documents. Kate also has significant experience in all facets of MSP compliance, including having completed and obtained approval of thousands of MSAs over her tenure. In addition, Kate provides client training, participates in national presentations, and releases regular articles on MSP, analytic related matters, and other claim related topics.
