ISO Motorcycle Program | Streamline the Way You Write Motorcycle Policies

The ISO Motorcycle Program — the first such standardized program in the industry — is a specialized program that consists of forms, rules, and loss costs tailored to fit the specific requirements of insuring a motorcycle.

The program includes refined rating procedures, so you don’t have to spend significant time and money to develop your own. And just like other ISO insurance programs, we continually monitor legislative changes and other trends to help keep the ISO Motorcycle Program current, so you can use your valuable resources elsewhere. The program also includes a Motorcycle Rating Code Supplement that provides up-to-date motorcycle information for model years 2004 and later.

ISO Motorcycle Manual

We’ve designed the ISO Motorcycle Manual to help you streamline the process of underwriting a motorcycle policy. The manual rules contain by-coverage rating relativities for the motorcycle type, engine size, and MSRP, as well as eligibility, territories reflecting seasonality, and motorcycle base loss costs. The manual also contains by-coverage classification factors that recognize various exposures, such as age of operator, years licensed, number of accidents involving bodily injury or property damage, and number of major convictions and minor convictions for moving traffic violations.

Whether you currently write your own program or are looking to enter the market, you can now use a standardized ISO policy form with policy language that’s been adapted from the ISO Personal Auto Program.

ISO is in the process of submitting the ISO Motorcycle Program to state insurance regulators for review. This multistate filing introduces the forms and rules, as well as state-specific loss costs.

The ISO Motorcycle Program is the latest addition to our ISO Personal Lines Specialty Programs, which also includes ISO Personal Liability, Umbrella, and Watercraft coverages.
