JERSEY CITY, N.J., Sept. 10, 2018 — Verisk (Nasdaq:VRSK), a leading data analytics provider, today announced that it is offering customers free access to Geomni’s high-resolution aerial imagery following major loss events. Geomni is a Verisk business.
Geomni will provide online access to before-and-after imagery of structures and properties inside the catastrophe area. This will enable viewers of the imagery the ability to better understand which areas have been affected by a particular major event and the extent of the damage.
“The high-quality data collected by our state-of-the-art imagery resources is helping our customers make more informed property decisions, faster than ever before,” said Geomni President Jeffrey C. Taylor. “This information can quickly provide important insights for experts who are deploying resources, setting loss reserves, verifying internal estimates, and much more.”
Geomni has built a massive library of high-resolution imagery and 3D data by using multiple remote sensing platforms with a focus on fixed-wing aircraft but also including satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and even mobile devices used to collect ground-level data through the Geomni Mobile app. After a major catastrophe, Geomni aircraft, located throughout the United States, are deployed to collect post-catastrophe imagery and data.
Recent catastrophe imagery available for viewing includes the California Carr wildfire; the Marshalltown, Iowa, tornado; and the Webster, Massachusetts, tornado.
Geomni post-catastrophe imagery will be accessible from a range of Verisk offerings, such as ISO’s PCS® catastrophe bulletins, Xactware’s Xactimate® estimating system, ISO ClaimSearch®, and AIR Worldwide’s ALERT™ service.
