Newly Created Position Focuses on Evolving Client Needs in Rapidly Changing Healthcare Environment Respected Executive Brings More Than Two Decades of Influential Industry Leadership to Serve MediConnect Clients
SALT LAKE CITY, October 3, 2012 — Verisk Health today announced the appointment of Kim Bresnan, a 23-year veteran in the healthcare industry, as executive vice president of client development for its MediConnect Global business. Verisk Health is a subsidiary of Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq:VRSK).
In this newly created position, Bresnan will work closely with MediConnect’s clients — including those in the health insurance, life insurance, and legal markets— to understand their goals and challenges and to ensure that the company’s products and services fully address their needs. Bresnan will use this knowledge to ensure the solutions continually meet and exceed the expectations of clients and to help guide future advances of the MediConnect product line.
“Kim brings a deep and vast understanding of the healthcare industry and the evolving needs of the organizations in this rapidly evolving sector,” said Joel Portice, president of Verisk Health. “Not only does she understand the challenges, but she has the exceptional ability to strategize and execute in the most efficient and effective ways for our clients. This is a win-win for both MediConnect and our clients.”
Bresnan has played key strategic roles for some of the healthcare industry’s leading organizations. Most recently as director of senior risk and recovery for WellPoint, she built sustainable data analytics programs. In the 18 years she spent at Aetna Health, Bresnan served in roles of progressively greater responsibility, from project manager to financial director of retiree markets, where she led the identification, development, and implementation of processes for revenue optimization and reconciliation of Medicare Advantage and prescription drug programs.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to work with our clients to optimize our industry-best medical record retrieval and management services in a way that will best meet their needs and objectives,” said Bresnan. “MediConnect’s unparalleled combination of expertise in personal health records and record retrieval and management, together with our creation of one of the largest and most complete health information exchanges, puts us in an ideal strategic position to help guide the decisions of organizations throughout the rapidly changing healthcare landscape.”
Bresnan has also served in the roles of national product manager and vice president of business development for Outcomes Health Information Solutions, where she led efforts to achieve significant revenue recovery for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
