To Broaden Services to its Reinsurers, ISO Names Former Scor Executive to be Reinsurance Principal

NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 1996 — To broaden its array of products services to reinsurance companies, Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) has named a former senior officer from the SCOR US Group, Nolan Asch, as principal, reinsurance.

nolan_asch A senior vice president and chief actuary in charge of all pricing and loss reserve activities at SCOR, Asch's new responsibility will be to help enhance ISO's focus on reinsurers.

"I am confident that Nolan's extensive reinsurance experience and background will advance our efforts to serve this important group of customers," said Carole J. Banfield, executive vice president, information services.

Asch will be responsible for developing new products and services — including customized services — to meet reinsurers' information needs and for increasing reinsurers' awareness of the value of ISO's existing products and services geared to reinsurers.

"ISO has the expertise and credibility to meet the reinsurance industry's information needs," said Asch. "The reinsurance industry is hungry for reliable actuarial data, especially for increased limits factors."

"We are here for reinsurers, customer-focused and eager for their input on the value-added information that will enhance their services and products," he added.

At SCOR, Asch was in charge of all pricing and loss reserving activities, including review of all excess-of-loss treaty submissions for general liability, workers' compensation, automobile liability, professional liability and property lines.

Asch's 23 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance field span 11 years in reinsurance, as well as pricing, underwriting and reserving responsibilities at major primary insurers, including the American Foreign Insurance Association (AFIA), Sentry Insurance, and CIGNA.

Asch received his bachelor of science degree in operations research from Columbia University and his master's degree in business administration from Tulane University. He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
