JERSEY CITY, N.J., and MINNEAPOLIS, May 31, 2006 — ISO announced today that it will begin providing its Workers Compensation Information Services (WCIS) to RTW, Inc., a leading provider of products and services to manage cost-effectively insured workers’ compensation programs and self-insured absence programs.
The licensing agreement calls for RTW to provide essential workers’ compensation premium and loss information to ISO’s Workers Compensation Information Services. WCIS will compile the data necessary under regulatory requirements and submit it to statistical agents in states where the RTW’s insurance subsidiaries write workers’ compensation coverage. ISO, a leading provider of information about risk, will report the data in both independent bureau states and states served by the National Council on Compensation Insurance for it to report to designated statistical agents and state rating bureaus.
Jeffrey B. Murphy, president and CEO of RTW, said, “ISO’s services further facilitate our focus on our core competencies, add expertise that enables us to move more quickly into new jurisdictions and remove non-core activities from our day-to-day operations. I am very pleased to partner with ISO.”
About RTW, Inc.
RTW, Inc. (NASDAQ: RTWI), based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, provides disability and absence management services, primarily directed at workers’ compensation, to: (i) employers insured through its wholly owned insurance subsidiaries, American Compensation Insurance Company (ACIC) and Bloomington Compensation Insurance Company (BCIC); (ii) self-insured employers on a fee-for-service basis; (iii) state assigned risk plans on a percent-of- premium basis; (iv) other insurance companies; and (v) agents and employers on a consulting basis, charging hourly fees. RTW has developed two proprietary systems to manage disability: (i) ID15®, designed to quickly identify those injured employees who are likely to become inappropriately dependent on disability system benefits, including workers’ compensation; and (ii) the RTW Solution®, designed to lower employers’ disability costs and improve productivity by returning injured employees to work as soon as safely possible. RTW supports these proprietary management systems with state-of-the-art technology and talented people dedicated to its vision of transforming people from absent or idle to present and productive. ACIC offers workers’ compensation insurance to employers in Minnesota, Colorado and Michigan, while BCIC today insures employers only in Minnesota. RTW, together with its AbsentiaSM division, has expanded its non-insurance products and service offerings nationally. RTW’s customers span many industries, including manufacturing, health care, hospitality and wholesale/retail.
