ISO Unveils Proactive Fraud-Detection Software that Queries, Retrieves and Stores Data from the ISO ClaimSearch System

LAS VEGAS, Nev., Feb. 14, 2000 — Claims and investigations professionals can access more than 140 million claims records, analyze the data, graphically display the interconnections among claims, and then store results of the investigation on their personal computer with ViewLink Manager software from Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO).

ViewLink Manager, unveiled at the 2000 Insurance Fraud Management Conference, lets insurers tap into the ISO ClaimSearch system – the property/casualty industry's comprehensive all-claims database. ViewLink Manager's advanced data-visualization tools dramatically reduce the amount of time it takes to investigate a claim for potential fraud.

Through advanced analytical technologies, such as automated link analysis and data visualization, insurance professionals can investigate files that used to take three or four days to analyze in as little as 15 minutes, saving hundreds, or thousands, of dollars per case. Link analysis finds the hidden connections within large amounts of data, such as one address or Social Security Number tied to several names on multiple claims. ViewLink Manager presents those links in a clearly understandable visual format that conveys the meaning behind those connections.

The proactive fraud-detection tool signals potential fraud through 10 built-in flagging devices that alert the user to parties linked to multiple addresses or vehicles, or multiple parties linked to a single telephone number.

ViewLink Manager is the PC-based solution from ISO's family of products to help claims professionals take advantage of the ISO ClaimSearch system. The software comes with an interactive training CD-ROM.

ISO ClaimSearch contains information on more than 140 million bodily injury (liability), property, and auto claims nationwide. More than 36 million claim records are added each year.
