New York, March 16, 1998 — The Premium Audit Advisory Service (PAAS), a unit of Insurance Services Office, Inc., (ISO) has published the California Cross-Reference Index Classification Guide, an authoritative reference to workers' compensation and general liability classifications in California.
"Whether you underwrite, process, rate, sell or audit, the California Cross-Reference Index will give you the quickest reference to the 600 workers' compensation and 1,100 general liability classifications used in the California market," said Ronald Latz, assistant vice president - PAAS.
Developed by PAAS with the help of its subscribing companies, the California Cross-Reference Index provides a complete cross-reference between the classifications adopted by the Workers' Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB) of California and the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) codes. The index also provides a cross-reference between the California workers' compensation codes and ISO's general liability classifications.
The publication of the Index is timely because the State of California approved the use of the ISO classifications just last year.
The Index has four cross-referencing sections:
- California workers' compensation classifications to NCCI workers' compensation classifications;
- NCCI workers' compensation classifications to the California workers' compensation classifications;
- California workers' compensation classifications to the ISO general liability classifications; and
- ISO general liability classifications to California workers' compensation classifications.
The California Cross-Reference Index is available to PAAS subscribers for $11 per unit and to agents and brokers for $20 per unit through the AISG Publications Department at 1-800-533-AISG (1-800-533-2474).
PAAS is the only insurance industry organization for premium audit management. It specializes in technical education and consultation services.
