JERSEY CITY, N.J., Nov. 17, 2004 — Art Cadorine, assistant vice president of ISO's Commercial Lines Information Division, has been awarded the 2004 Matthew S. Rodermund Service Award by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS).
The award, established in 1990 in honor of Matt Rodermund's years of volunteer service to the CAS, recognized Cadorine for his significant volunteer contributions to the actuarial profession. The award was presented at the CAS annual meeting in Montreal.
Cadorine's volunteer contributions include committee involvement, participation at CAS meetings and seminars, volunteer efforts for regional affiliates and involvement with non-CAS professional organizations.
Over the past 32 years, Cadorine has been involved in several CAS committees, including serving as chair of its Management Data and Information Committee and the Ratemaking Seminar Committee. He still serves as a member of both committees.
In addition, he is the CAS liaison with the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA).
Cadorine is also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and is a past president of the Insurance Data Management Association. He is currently on the IASA board of directors.
A graduate of St. John's University, New York, with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics, Cadorine has been with ISO for over 40 years. He now leads ISO's workers compensation initiatives.
