Compliance expert Roger Fendelman explores the industry's toughest issues
AGOURA HILLS, CA, May 15, 2012 — Interthinx announced today the launch of From the Bar: Inside Compliance with Roger Fendelman, a new podcast focusing on the industry’s toughest compliance issues. Fendelman, vice president of compliance at Interthinx, noted that rulemaking by the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — and coping with the changes — has created many questions of concern to lenders. He hopes the regularly scheduled podcast will provide some answers.
“Compliance officers have never had a more challenging mandate than they do today,” said Fendelman. “Attendance at compliance conferences has increased dramatically in the last year as these professionals reach out for guidance. Failure to ensure compliance has resulted in buyback requests, fines, loss of lines of business, and closure of business for many lenders. With hundreds of new rules coming down from various agencies this year, occasional conferences are not sufficient. From the Bar will provide detailed information and analysis that financial institutions can rely on.”
Fendelman has more than 15 years of industry experience and is responsible for leading the Interthinx compliance department and developing its PredProtect® Compliance Suite of automated regulatory compliance tools. An experienced attorney, Fendelman is an established thought leader in the residential mortgage lending industry who is often called upon to speak at industry events. He has also authored numerous published articles on regulatory requirements.
Interthinx has produced the Direct from DC podcast with industry expert Ann Fulmer since January 2011.
