Verisk, (Nasdaq: VRSK) a leading global data analytics and technology provider, has named Eric Spear chief technology officer for Verisk’s Extreme Event Solutions.

With more than two decades of technology leadership, Spear has led numerous technological transformations across diverse industries. For the past five years, he served as the senior vice president of engineering for Flywire, a global payments enablement and software company. Prior to that, he was the senior vice president of engineering for Cengage Learning, an education and content provider.
As Chief Technology Officer, Spear will lead Verisk’s engineering, quality assurance, and IT functions. Under Spear’s leadership, the team will drive continue to innovation through AI- and cloud-based architecture, delivering high-resiliency solutions that aim to accelerate product development and market delivery. A key focus for him will be enabling automated workflows and scalable computing resources to enhance clients’ catastrophe risk modeling operations. Spear brings experience operating within publicly traded organizations and remains committed to solving customer challenges and delivering unmatched value across the insurance value chain.
