JERSEY CITY, N. J., June 20, 2001 — Constantine "Dinos" Iordanou, chief executive officer of Zurich North America, today was elected to the board of directors of Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO).
Iordanou succeeds Dennis H. Chookaszian, chairman of the executive committee of CNA Financial Corp., as an ISO director.
ISO's board today also re-elected John F. Lehman, Jr., chairman of J. F. Lehman & Co., New York, and Arthur J. Rothkopf, president of Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., to three-year terms as directors.
Iordanou became chief executive officer of Zurich North America in December of last year. The Schaumburg, Ill.-based Zurich North America is the commercial insurance arm on that continent of Zurich Financial Services Group of Switzerland, a global leader in financial services, including property/casualty and life insurance, reinsurance and asset management.
Iordanou joined Zurich-American Insurance Group in 1992 as president of the Specialties Business unit. He was appointed chief executive officer of the Zurich-American Insurance Group in 1995, and became the chief executive officer of Zurich U.S. in 1999.
Before joining Zurich, Iordanou was president of Berkshire Hathaway Group's commercial casualty division and a senior vice president of the American Home Assurance Co., a member of the American Insurance Group family of companies.
Iordanou is a member of the board of directors of the American Insurance Association. He is also a trustee of the College of Insurance in New York City, and Roosevelt University, Chicago.
A native of Cyprus, Iordanou received a degree in aerospace engineering from New York University.
