Starting with key events in 2017 and 2018 – including Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria – PCS users can gain access to county-level industry loss estimates for catastrophes in the United States. The insured loss threshold for county-level reporting is US$1 billion and includes breakdowns by class of business (personal, commercial, and auto) and estimated claim counts under this service.
PCS county-level loss estimates are available for events in all 50 states, as well as U.S. territories and possessions.
Starting with the key events of 2017, PCS provides county-level industry loss data for events where the estimated industrywide insured loss is expected to exceed $1 billion. Increased frequency spanning severe thunderstorm and hail, hurricane and tropical storm, and riot and civil disorder has led to significant growth of this dataset since launch.
Licensed PCS users will be able to access county-level estimates either through the ISOnet portal or using an updated version of the PCS FlatCat service. PCS county level industry loss estimates are an additional service for users of PCS for insured loss estimates on U.S. catastrophe events.
