When you report a claim to ISO ClaimSearch, you should always include the claimant's Social Security number (SSN). SSN is a key field that significantly improves the effectiveness of your search and increases the amount of information you can get back from ISO ClaimSearch.
But what if you don't know the claimant's SSN?
Now, Append-DSSM can provide the correct SSN in a result report whenever you need it.
Here's how it works
Append-DS — or Append Data and Search — is an optional service from ISO ClaimSearch. When you sign up for Append-DS, every time your company reports a claim that doesn't include the claimant's SSN, the system will automatically perform a public-records search to retrieve the correct data. The system will search the ISO ClaimSearch database and append the SSN to your result report.
If you wish, you can add the SSN to the claim report in the database by filing a claim update.
Save time, improve results
Append-DS will streamline your claims-processing workflow and increase productivity. Your claims handlers will:
- save time in searching for public-records data
- access all the available information to make better claims-processing decisions
- find potential fraud faster and more effectively
To get Append-DS service, you must report claims to ISO ClaimSearch using the Universal Format, either by system-to-system transmission or on the web.
