Brian Cowan specializes in Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) compliance, medical analytics, workers’ compensation claims management, and cost containment. He is vice president of Workers’ Compensation and Medical Analytics, Casualty Solutions at Verisk. He advises carriers, TPAs, attorneys, and self-insureds on using data and AI-driven insights to improve claim outcomes, reduce costs and strengthen claim strategy. Drawing on his expertise analyzing claims, medical costs, and compliance trends, Brian helps inform decision support solutions, including Discovery Navigator, that equip claims professionals with actionable insights for more effective decision-making. His expertise includes Section 111 reporting, conditional payment resolution, Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs), CMS submission, professional administration, and MSP program development. Brian is an MSCC-certified professional and a licensed attorney.
