With Medicare recovery issues a top priority for our clients, we’d like to introduce you to Walter Johnson, our senior lien analyst. Walter has been with us for eight years. He is a national expert in lien review and negotiation and provides daily consultations to help clients resolve complex conditional payment issues and Treasury and Medicare Advantage liens.
Walter has been a registered nurse for more than four decades, and his experience includes years of frontline management of one of the country’s largest trauma centers. In 1999, the Greater Houston EMS Council named him Emergency Department Nurse of the Year in recognition of his patient care initiatives and revenue guidance.
Walter previously worked with the U.S. Department of the Treasury for six years as a contractor. In this position, he was responsible for supervising the department and processing Medicare cases involving recovery or resolution from providers, insurance carriers, and attorneys in both group health as well as nongroup health cases. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Treasury Department tapped Walter to educate insurance company trade groups and organizations about the Medicare conditional payment process and compliance.
If you have any liens that have been moved to Treasury for collection or that contain inappropriate charges, or if you are uncertain about your repayment obligations, we encourage you to contact Walter directly at 978-825-8286. Walter’s experience makes him an exceptional asset when trying to resolve any complex Treasury or Medicare lien issues.
