The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that it will be holding a PAID Act testing webinar on September 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) for non-group health plan (NGHP) responsible reporting entities (RREs).
The PAID Act, in general, requires CMS to expand its Section 111 Query Process to provide RREs with a claimant’s Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Medicare Part D (prescription drug) enrollment information. The PAID Act goes live on December 11, 2021. As part of its implementation plans, CMS will start a voluntary testing period on September 13, 2021.
In its webinar notice CMS states, in part, as follows: “This webinar will offer important PAID Act reminders and focus on the details of the upcoming testing period, which will begin on September 13, 2021.” CMS’s notice also states that there will be a live question and answer session as part of this webinar. See CMS’s webinar notice (link above) for their instructions on how to dial into the webinar. Verisk's ISO Claims Partners will be attending this webinar and will release a post-webinar summary.
It is important to note that this webinar applies primarily to Section 111 reporting agents and RREs that self-report to CMS. For our MSP Navigator, ISO ClaimSearch CMS and iComply customers, please note that each one of our referenced reporting solutions will undergo thorough testing with CMS once the testing phase of CMS’s implementation begins on September 13, 2021. Thus, our reporting customers will not be required to test directly with CMS. Rather, testing for all our reporting customers should primarily focus on the receipt and processing of the expanded query response data to be returned via the above referenced reporting platforms. Finally, please note that we will be working closely with all our reporting customers to facilitate this exchange with further information regarding these processes to follow in the near future.
