In the United States, overall reconstruction costs increased more than 3 percent from April 2012 to April 2013. During first-quarter 2013, reconstruction costs increased 1.5 percent at the national level, compared with the 0.44 percent increase during fourth-quarter 2012. As in the first quarter, northeastern states experienced the largest increases.
