Meet the Presenters

Colin McDonald

TPI Relationships & Market Innovation Lead

Colin McDonald has been with Aviva for the past 16 years in a number of technical and leadership roles in underwriting and claims. In his current role, he manages Aviva’s claims relationship with the other major motor insurers with a focus on reducing frictional costs and indemnity spend. He's been responsible for leading strategic change within motor claims subrogation, including taking the Verify portal to the market, the use of arbitration for liability resolution, and identifying further automation opportunities with these areas.

Olly Savage

Sales & Business Development Director

Olly Savage has over 15 years in the general insurance market and has been involved with Validus since its inception in 2007. He has a thorough understanding of the BPO operation, having overseen the department between 2009 and 2011. Since then, he has worked closely with both existing and new clients to successfully develop and deliver Validus’s market-leading SaaS and BPO offerings.

More recently, Olly’s remit has stretched beyond the UK to lead the development of overseas markets.

Stewart McCulloch

Business Development Director
Claimspace Limited

Stewart McCulloch is business development director of Claimspace Limited. He is a solicitor who spent 25 years as a partner in a large North West of England law firm dealing with claims work – mainly in the field of bodily injury. During that period, he assisted insurers and claimant organisations in setting up settlement protocols with the specific aim of avoiding expensive litigation. He also worked with local courts to establish new rules designed to streamline process and reduce cost and worked with Government departments in establishing cost-effective processes to support publicly funded work.

Stewart has always had an interest in supporting negotiation and dispute resolution by using the latest technology. More recently he has run his own outsourcing company and has been a director and head of compliance for a large national law firm.

As a committed proponent of alternative dispute resolution, Stewart has handled some of the largest mediation and arbitration cases in recent years. He is also a director of Liverpool Law Society.
