Module 1: Why is medical screening a vital part of the travel insurance sales process?

Aims & Objectives: Trainees will learn the importance of medical screening, why additional premiums are charged and the consequences of large loss medical claims.

Directions: This is a quick module, just read through the information.

Note to Trainer: This might be a good opportunity to go over your own claims data too to consolidate how important screening is.

Module 2: How to use the Black Box

Aims & Objectives: By the end of this presentation, trainees should know how to operate the Black Box and how to search for, declare, edit and remove conditions.

Directions: Run through the module and complete the task.

Note to Trainer: Please ensure trainees log on to the demonstration system and feel confident searching for conditions, using the edit button, and removing conditions.

Module 3: Handy Tips for Medical Screening

Aims & Objectives: To consolidate what trainees have learnt in Module 2.

Directions: Run through the module and complete the task.

Note: Skip the script section if it is not relevant, but please consider incorporating parts of it into your script.

Standard: By the end of this module, trainees should be able to operate the Black Box and screen efficiently.

Module 4: Verisk Regions and Region Multipliers

Aims & Objectives: By the end of this presentation, trainees will have learnt how, why and which destinations influence additional premium.

Directions: Run through the module.

Note to Trainers: Incorporate your front facing regions when explaining the module to the trainees.

Module 5: Annual Exclusions, Wintersports Exclusions and Cover Thresholds (Not suitable for all clients)

Aims & Objectives: Trainees should have a clear understanding of exclusions and thresholds, why and how they present.

Directions: Run through the module and complete the task..

Note to Trainers: Ask the trainees to practise declining customers, incorporate your own scripts if you have them.

Module 6: Directly and Indirectly Linked Conditions (Not suitable for all clients)

Aims & Objectives: By the end of this presentation, trainees will understand why and how linked conditions work.

Directions: Run through the presentation and complete the task..

Standard: Trainees should be able to confidently explain to customers what the linked conditions are and why they aren’t covered.

Module 7: Basic Medical Training for Screening

Aims & Objectives: By the end of this presentation, trainees will have been introduced to a basic understanding of medicine.

Directions: Run through the presentation.

Standard: Trainees should be capable of using the Black Box and ready to learn some FAQs about the medical side of it.

Module 8: High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure

Aims & Objectives: Trainees should feel confident screening both conditions and understand the common queries surrounding them.

Directions: Run through the presentation and complete the task.
