Types of Water Supplies

Water supplies to sprinkler systems can consist of one or more supply sources:

  • public/private mains
  • elevated storage tanks (gravity tanks)
  • ground-level suction tanks
  • embankment-supported fabric tanks
  • static storage — such as a lake, pond, or reservoir — with pumps
  • pressure tanks
