John Buchanan is a Principal in the Excess and Reinsurance Division of ISO. He is responsible for all of ISO’s services for domestic and international reinsurers and excess operations. Throughout John's career, he has managed extensive benchmarking and modeling services for various reinsurers, carriers, and industry groups.

He joined ISO with substantial experience as a reinsurer at Platinum Reinsurance and a Principal for Tower Watson.

Mr. Buchanan graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from West Chester University. He has earned the designations of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He has moderated and spoken at dozens of industry events in his career and is founder and chair of the joint CAS-IFoA International Reinsurance Pricing Research Working Party.

Maroun Mourad, President of ISO Commercial Lines, a Verisk Analytics business, is a data analytics and insurance industry executive. He has profitably grown businesses for 19 years in the U.S., UK, Europe, and emerging markets.

While working at Gen Re, AIG, Arch, and Zurich, in leadership roles, Maroun served clients across underwriting (production & technical), operations, and general management. He led teams and P&Ls in personal and commercial lines spanning multiple customer segments, distribution channels, and cultures. Maroun’s laser focus on team building, customer centricity, and delivering quality results enabled business transformations in established, start-up, and turnaround environments. Maroun is an industry thought leader, public speaker, volunteer, and mentor. His first book, The Insurance Management Playbook: A Leader’s Guide, published in 2014, stands testament to his passion for the insurance business. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
