Joe Izzo is senior vice president of data strategy and information management at ISO. Mr. Izzo manages the maintenance and quality of ISO’s statistical databases and related products and services. He has more than 29 years of actuarial and data management experience.
Mr. Izzo began his career with ISO in 1986 as an actuarial assistant. He has held management positions of increasing responsibility since 1994. Those responsibilities have included personal and commercial lines data management and quality, new data product development, and actuarial consulting.
Mr. Izzo has been a speaker at various conferences and seminars run by ISO, the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), and the Insurance Data Management Association (IDMA).
Graduating from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Mr. Izzo earned a bachelor of science in operations research with a concentration in economics. He is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and an Associate in Insurance Services (AIS).

Tim McCarthy is an actuarial director in the commercial lines actuarial division at ISO Solutions. He is responsible for managing the actuarial operations for commercial general liability, medical professional, and commercial excess/umbrella. He has worked at ISO for more than 20 years.
Mr. McCarthy graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Loyola College and has earned the designations of Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He is also a past president of the Casualty Actuaries of Greater New York (CAGNY).

Jared Smollik is the actuarial product director for personal auto at ISO Solutions. Mr. Smollik leads a team of personal auto insurance professionals in using customer feedback, market knowledge, and business intelligence to drive the creation of new actuarial products and to maintain and enhance ISO’s existing programs.
Mr. Smollik is also part of Verisk’s effort to develop vehicle telematics products and contributes to other automobile-related research. Mr. Smollik graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and finance from Rutgers College and the Rutgers Business School. He has earned the designations of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Associate in Risk Management-ERM (ARM-E).
