Tennessee to implement online insurance verification system

In May, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam approved House Bill 606, which calls for implementation of an online insurance verification system.

The law requires an online verification service for personal auto and encourages submission of a monthly book-of-business file. Commercial auto insurers participate voluntarily, and the state will determine an alternative method of reporting for insurers writing fewer than 500 noncommercial motor vehicle policies.

The state aims to have its system up and running no later than January 1, 2017.

As a CV-ALIR implementation specialist, I’ll be posting more information and reaching out to customers as Tennessee releases more details. If you want to learn more about liability insurance reporting in Tennessee or other states and how CV-ALIR can help, please feel free to contact us.
