Florida property/casualty insurers to upgrade Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR)

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles set a deadline of March 31, 2013, for insurers to convert the Automobile Liability Insurance Reporting (ALIR) format from a flat file to XML. In addition to the change in format, insurers will report more information. As a result of the changes, insurers will have to reload their books of business.

The DMV has been hosting working group meetings to assist in the transition. As a provider of ALIR services, Verisk Insurance Solutions – Underwriting sent representatives to attend those meetings. Verisk Underwriting offers CV-ALIR®, from the Coverage VerifierSM Suite of Services, to help insurers satisfy reporting obligations to state departments of motor vehicles.
