A Milestone for ISO ClaimSearch: 1 Billion Claims

More data promotes better decision making for claims adjusters. And soon, the ISO ClaimSearch® database will hold 1 billion claims available to all ISO ClaimSearch users. We launched the ISO ClaimSearch database in 1999 by integrating three separate industrywide databases for property, casualty, and auto claims. Combining the three databases created a huge benefit for insurers, who previously had to conduct time-consuming and limited searches across single lines of business. Over the years, ISO ClaimSearch has helped investigators conduct more thorough searches across all lines of business to identify claim patterns, detect suspicious claims, and handle meritorious claims more efficiently.

From the beginning, ISO knew that the system’s effectiveness would depend on the quantity and quality of the claims data being reported. In the last 14 years, we’ve made numerous changes to improve the system, including increasing the amount of data insurers can report for each claim, expanding fraud reporting capabilities, and providing search alerts designed to allow SIUs to collaborate more effectively. We enhanced the Claims Inquiry function to improve flexibility and capabilities for better searches. We also expanded compliance reporting to assist member companies in fulfilling their regulatory  requirements.

But the heart of ISO ClaimSearch has always been its rich claims data. Starting at the first notice of loss (FNOL) and throughout the life of a claim, ISO ClaimSearch is there to help adjusters investigate claims efficiently. And with more data comes more information to support good decision making. We’re excited to celebrate a new milestone, and we look forward to the future — a new ISO ClaimSearch experience coming your way with better graphics, enhanced functionality, and much more. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact ISO ClaimSearch customer support at info.claimsearch@iso.com
