2012 ISO ClaimSearch Review: OverviewBy Carlos Martins | April 8, 2013
The year 2012 was noteworthy for ISO ClaimSearch®. We added more than 66.4 million new claims, a 9.5 percent increase over the number of new claims added in 2011. The database contains 843.7 million claims across all lines of business, as of the end of 2012. The system processed 87.3 million updates to existing claims, compared with 73.9 million in 2011 – an increase of 16 percent.
The system’s ability to handle large volumes of claims and special investigations queries helps you efficiently evaluate meritorious claims, identify potential claims fraud, and meet regulatory reporting requirements.
In 2012, ISO ClaimSearch supported more than 87,000 active users by processing 25.7 million online inquiries submitted by insurance adjusters and special investigators, National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) investigators, and law enforcement personnel. The system also compared 61.2 million claims against the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) watch list of Specially Designated Nationals and identified 299,000 possible matches for further investigation. We conducted 300 training sessions on basic and advanced ISO ClaimSearch system functions and held six user meetings across the country.
