3E Company Expands Food, Beverage, and Flavor Solution to Improve Global Product Compliance

Ariel for Food & Flavors Supports Streamlined Access to Comprehensive and Accurate Regulatory Content for Seamless Integration into a Wide Variety of Platforms, including SAP

Carlsbad, Calif., July 21, 2015 — 3E Company, a leading provider of environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance and information management services, today announced enhancements to its food, beverage, and flavor solution with an expanded content offering and the addition of new functionality to its ArielLogicTM tool. In addition, Ariel® Food & Flavors content can now be seamlessly integrated into SAP’s Recipe Development module as well as other formulation management platforms. 3E Company is a Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq:VRSK) business.

The suite of solutions increases visibility into global product compliance initiatives and better enables companies to verify compliance early in the product development life cycle. These tools can also augment regulatory impact risk management initiatives and facilitate the development of market suitability reviews and supplier assessments, helping food, beverage, and flavor manufacturers successfully meet their compliance regulations while also mitigating risk.

Expanded Content Offering

3E’s expanded Food & Flavors regulatory content offering encompasses restricted and banned substances; hazard communication documentation and labeling; and market suitability reviews and supplier assessments. As companies struggle under the burden of spiraling global regulations, standards, and consumer pressure, having access to reliable regulatory and supplier data can increase efficiency and mitigate risk.

ArielLogic Enhancements

3E’s proven ArielLogic tool has also been updated to enable users to more easily perform substance-level checks on country-level food, food additives, and flavor regulatory requirements. ArielLogic also provides full text and overviews of food additives and flavor regulations and comprehensive coverage of labeling, health claims, GMOs, and other relevant industry topics.

Regulatory Data for SAP Delivered in the Cloud

By optimizing the integration of content into SAP Recipe Development, Ariel now lets customers seamlessly load data to the SAP property tree and use SAP’s Compliance Check functionality. Ariel content is now integrated into SAP using Ariel Content for the Cloud, the company’s first in a series of cloud-based data-loading applications. Types of data supported include prohibited ingredients; quantity and application use restrictions; regulatory reference; and positive/negative statements. The new integrated solution ensures that SAP users have improved access to the content needed to ensure overall product and facility compliance.

“We’re committed to offering food, beverage, and flavor manufacturers a comprehensive solution for addressing complex global regulatory requirements and safety standards, while also helping them avoid the penalties and burdens associated with noncompliance,” said Julia Tsvetkova, director of product management, 3E Company. “Our comprehensive Ariel Food & Flavors solution includes an integrated platform for seamless access to critical content directly from the customer’s existing platform — such as SAP — coupled with a complementary, powerful, and intuitive reference tool for quick analysis.”
