OREM, Utah, April 5, 2012 — Xactware’s new release of XactRemodel® includes Aerial Sketch®, a patent-pending tool that helps remodelers quickly draw plans of existing roofs using high-resolution photos.
Estimators use Aerial Sketch to download photos from aerial image providers; sketch roof perimeters, ridges, hips, and valleys; and then convert those drawings to 3D digital diagrams that can be used to estimate the cost of proposed renovations.
“Estimating jobs that involve roof remodels just became much easier and safer,” said Dave Luse, Xactware’s project manager for XactRemodel. “Now remodelers can avoid hours on steep roofs and sketch complete roof structures from the safety of the ground in a matter of minutes.” Proposed additions or roof alterations can quickly be added to the plan, allowing the remodeler to show the building owner both the existing and proposed structure in 3D or as a standard roof plan. Aerial Sketch can also be used to help estimators draw plans of exterior walls, fences, and decks.
Xactware designed Aerial Sketch to take advantage of the high-resolution photos that aerial image providers have recently made available. With these photos and Xactware technology, even complex roofs can be drawn in just minutes.
Other enhancements in the new XactRemodel include improved speed, streamlined network installation, and consolidated data entry.
