Standard-setting ISO State Filing Handbook on Westlaw
NEW YORK, May 15, 2000 — Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) and West Group have forged a strategic alliance to distribute selected ISO publications via Westlaw®, West Group's premier online legal and business research service with more than 13,000 databases.
The first ISO publication to appear on Westlaw will be ISO's trusted State Filing Handbook. ISO's State Filing Handbook is recognized in the property/casualty industry as the authoritative source on state insurance laws and regulations governing requirements for filing rates, rules and policy forms with state regulators.
Through Westlaw, law firms, insurers' in-house legal counsel, state-filing departments and insurance-compliance professionals will now have constant access to the most current version of the State Filing Handbook. The Westlaw format also allows customers to conveniently download or print each state's filing forms for regulatory filings. Westlaw is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through proprietary software or via the Internet at www.westlaw.com.
"ISO's alliance with West Group is in keeping with our strategy to continue expanding electronic delivery of our core products and services to new customers and new markets," said Domenick J. Yezzi, Jr., ISO's vice president – specialty commercial lines. "Going forward, insurers as well as other ISO customers who serve the property/casualty industry can expect ISO to be even more active in providing business-to-business e-commerce solutions."
"The combination of ISO's best-of-class publications with Westlaw's insurance legal and regulatory databases and sophisticated research platforms creates a powerful resource for the insurance industry," said Erv Barbre, West Group senior vice president of product development. " Because the State Filing Handbook is so highly regarded from coast to coast, it's a fitting selection to initiate the availability of ISO resources on Westlaw."
