Steve Lekas is president of ISO – Personal Lines, helping home and auto insurers accelerate innovation, excellence, and profitable growth through data analytics and insights.
Mr. Lekas is responsible for the personal lines underwriting organization, including the growth of leading brands such as 360Value®, LOCATION®, A-PLUSTM, Coverage VerifierSM, RISK:check® Point of Sale, Risk:check® Renewal, iiXTM, ISO Risk Analyzer®, and ISO Market LandscapeTM. He also oversees ISO’s personal insurance advisory prospective loss costs (projections of future claims), policy forms, and underwriting rules. In addition, his responsibilities include bringing new data, technology, analytical methods and insights to the insurance industry, and reviewing and monitoring legislative bills, regulatory actions, and court decisions to provide insights on many issues to federal and state entities and to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Under his oversight, ISO also collects and compiles data from insurers, acts as statistical agent for all U.S. insurance regulators, supplies actuarial and data management consulting services, and conducts cutting-edge research on various issues in property/casualty insurance.
Prior to Verisk, Mr. Lekas designed and launched the Esurance homeowners program for Allstate Insurance Company, after 12 years in claims, technology, underwriting, product management, and product development roles.
Mr. Lekas holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and computer information systems from Kent State University.
