Stephen J. Halliday is chairman, Natural Resources, helping to formulate strategy for Verisk in the energy, chemicals, metals and mining, and renewables industries.
Since joining Wood Mackenzie in 1989, Mr. Halliday has filled a number of leadership roles, including group president of Verisk Analytics and chief executive officer of Wood Mackenzie, where he was responsible for setting strategy and overseeing worldwide operations. Previously, Mr. Halliday served as executive director of Wood Mackenzie’s Energy business, where he covered the company’s research and consulting activities for eight years. His earlier roles included senior analyst in the U.K. upstream team, head of the European Energy team, and head of the Energy Consulting team. Mr. Halliday was also part of the management team that led the company’s management and employee buyout in 2001.
During his 29 years in the energy industry, Mr. Halliday has also worked for BP in the downstream oil sector and for Total in the downstream gas business.
Mr. Halliday holds a bachelor of science degree, with honours, in chemical engineering from Edinburgh University.
