In the past, questionable medical providers have known that their unacceptable billing practices remained hidden from scrutiny by speed-to-settle requirements and the lack of an industry data clearinghouse allowing for the analysis of significant outliers. The property/casualty industry is responding to that problem with a large-scale project sponsored by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and HealthCare Insight (HCI). The project will build an aggregated medical database to help expose unacceptable medical billing practices and the relationships of the providers behind those practices. Attend this session to hear more about the project.

This session will review the types of data and tools available to help you look at the potential effects of catastrophes across geography and time. ISO has developed, or is in the process of developing, several predictive models for rating homeowners risks:
Environmental module — predicting expected losses for risks at a refined geographical level (census block group/ISO territory/PPC™) for all perils combined and separately by peril
Rating characteristics module — integrating the predictive analytic features of the environmental module with by-peril rating relativities for policy deductible, amount of insurance, and age of construction
Building characteristics module — predicting expected losses by peril based on an analysis of building characteristics, such as square footage and number of bathrooms
This session will give you an overview of how ISO is working with predictive analytics to create new products and services for homeowners.
