Kenneth Rado is director of risk management and planning at ISO. He is responsible for analyzing all exposures across the ISO enterprise to determine loss potential and ways of protecting the corporation through risk avoidance, reduction, or transfer using insurance and other means.
Mr. Rado also works closely with the managing principal of ISO’s risk-management practice to build the company’s services for risk management, consultant, brokerage, and other noninsurer clients.
A veteran risk-management executive, Mr. Rado has more than 30 years of professional experience in risk and employee-benefits management. Immediately before joining ISO, Mr. Rado served as international risk manager at the Colgate Palmolive Company, where he directed risk strategy — including identification, mitigation, and financing of risk — for all international operations.
Previously, he worked for PRIME Hospitality Corporation as director of risk management, overseeing the risk-management, loss-prevention, claims-management, and security programs. Mr. Rado’s experience also includes serving as director of risk management at Dover Corporation, First Union Corporation, and Reliance Group Holdings, Inc.
Mr. Rado holds a master of business administration degree in risk management and a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from
Temple
University, where he also serves as an adjunct professor of risk management and insurance.
He participates in a host of professional risk-management organizations, including RIMS
New York chapter and the NYC Risk Management Roundtable.
Mr. Rado received the CPCU Society New York Chapter’s Mathew Lenz Award for outstanding contributions to the advancement of the risk-management profession.
