DxCG TO PRESENT AT ACADEMYHEALTH ANNUAL RESEARCH MEETING DxCG Cofounder and Senior Scientist to Lead Methods Workshop on Predictive Modeling BOSTON, Mass., June 21, 2005 — DxCG®, Inc., a leading provider of predictive modeling software for health care organizations, today announced that its senior researchers will conduct a predictive modeling workshop at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. "Using Predictive Modeling to Manage Health Care and Health Insurance" is scheduled for Monday, June 27, at 11 a.m. EST. DxCG cofounder and senior scientist Arlene Ash, Ph.D., who will also chair the methods workshop; DxCG senior research associate Anju Joglekar, Ph.D.; and DxCG client Robert Bachler, FSA, from American Re, will discuss a range of applications for predictive modeling in health care delivery and financing. Anju Joglekar will show how plans can use risk adjustment models to infer the presence of chronic disease and to populate and maintain disease registries. Registries make it easier for plans and payors to agree upon appropriate payments and to ensure appropriate care for beneficiaries with elevated health care needs. Robert Bachler will present a case study on using diagnosis-based predictive models for improved stop loss and reinsurance pricing. Arlene Ash will present a case study on using predictive models to find high-risk cases on a timely basis so that case managers can work to prevent, delay or reduce the severity of subsequent clinical episodes. For more information about this methods workshop, please visit the AcademyHealth website at http://www.academyhealth.org/arm/index.htm. About DxCG, Inc.
