Scott G. Stephenson
Scott G. Stephenson is president and chief operating officer of Verisk Analytics. Mr. Stephenson manages the day-to-day operations of Verisk. All the company’s operating units report to him. Also reporting to Mr. Stephenson are the Verisk technology, sales, marketing, and business development organizations. Before becoming Verisk’s COO, Mr. Stephenson had group-level responsibility for a number of the company’s business units and a variety of functional groups, including Enterprise Data Management, Business Development, and Partner Licensing.

Before joining Verisk’s ISO subsidiary, Mr. Stephenson was an advisor at Silver Lake Partners, a technology-oriented private equity firm headquartered in New York and Menlo Park, California, where his focus was on the information services sector. Before Silver Lake, Mr. Stephenson was a senior partner with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting firm, including service on the firm’s North American operating committee.

Mr. Stephenson is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering, and the Harvard Business School, where he received a master of business administration degree. Mr. Stephenson has served on numerous civic and charitable boards.

Jonathan Bennett
Jonathan Bennett is executive vice president, digital commerce and customer analytics, at The Hartford — a newly created position he assumed in July 2010. He reports to the CEO and is a member of the Office of the Chairman. In that role, Mr. Bennett directs all digital strategy and execution for the enterprise and is accountable for developing customer insights that drive The Hartford’s business direction and growth. Most recently, Mr. Bennett was the executive vice president of personal and small business insurance for The Hartford. He was responsible for growth and profit of auto, home, and small commercial business, as well as operations and product development for the property/casualty division.

Mr. Bennett joined The Hartford in April 1999 as the staff assistant to the chairman and CEO. In March 2000, he was named vice president of corporate development. Subsequently, he led the property and casualty e-business ventures team. In January 2002, Mr. Bennett joined the personal lines organization to lead the product management department. In April 2003, he was named senior vice president, personal lines division, with overall responsibility for The Hartford’s auto and homeowners business.

Mr. Bennett worked at CIGNA from 1994 to 1999, serving as vice president and product manager in charge of the institutional fund strategy at CIGNA’s retirement division. He also held positions in strategy and marketing and as a product manager for corporate-owned life insurance. Before joining CIGNA, Mr. Bennett worked at Arthur Andersen LLP as an auditor and consultant.

Mr. Bennett earned his master of science degree in accounting from the University of Hartford and his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Connecticut College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He serves on the board of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Barney School of Business Board of Advisors.

Kevin Hilyard
Kevin Hilyard is vice president of property/casualty claims at Nationwide Insurance. His current responsibilities include commercial lines claims, agribusiness, and farm.

Mr. Hilyard has worked in insurance for 30 years, with more than 9 years spent at Nationwide in various roles in the field and at the home office. He joined Nationwide in 2001 as a claims officer responsible for the New York claims office. He then accepted a series of positions of increasing responsibility, including vice president of specialty claims, vice president of field operations, vice president of New York operations, and vice president of property/casualty claims. In that position, he was responsible for claims technology, claims strategy, claims training, commercial lines claims, and special investigations.

Mr. Hilyard began his claims career as an adjuster and claims supervisor with Liberty Mutual in New Jersey. He also spent 14 years at General Accident Insurance in Ohio and Philadelphia, progressing through various claims positions. In 1998, General Accident merged with Commercial Union Insurance, and he assumed the position of vice president, claims field operations, for the newly formed CGU Insurance Company.

Mr. Hilyard earned his bachelor of science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He also completed the executive education course in organization behavior at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.

Mary O. Woods
Mary O. Woods began her insurance career in 1983 as a casualty underwriting trainee for Aetna Life and Casualty. At Aetna, Ms. Woods held multiple underwriting positions in field locations in Garden City, New York; White Plains, New York; and Boston, Massachusetts. She then accepted a promotion as a large-account referral underwriter at Aetna’s corporate home office. Ms. Woods held multiple product and underwriting positions at the home office, including managing the workers compensation line of business, developing a manufacturers general liability product and rate class plan, and managing the construction business portfolio.

After the Aetna/Travelers merger in 1995, Ms. Woods helped create the company’s new construction business unit, which has grown to be the second largest middle-market business at Travelers. Within construction, Ms. Woods assumed multiple roles, including national underwriting officer and vice president of field management. In 2005, she joined Travelers’ commercial accounts group and formed a new product unit responsible for the new Industry Edge portfolio of products and services focusing on specific industries within the middle market.

In 2007, Ms. Woods accepted a promotion to vice president, enterprise product, assuming responsibility for all commercial products sold across Travelers’ commercial businesses. In that role, she and her team manage the casualty lines of business, including profit and loss responsibilities as well as new product development and maintenance for all businesses within Travelers’ Business Insurance.

Ms. Woods is a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
