S. Ming Lee — President — AIR Worldwide

S. Ming Lee is president of AIR Worldwide, part of Verisk's decision analytics business segment. AIR is a leading risk modeling and technology firm specializing in risks associated with natural and man-made catastrophes, weather, and climate.

Mr. Lee has led several departments since joining AIR in 1996. Before taking on the role of chief executive officer in April 2007, he directed the operations of AIR’s Consulting and Software Services Group, encompassing software product management and testing, technical support, and catastrophe loss analysis services. Previously, Mr. Lee directed AIR’s work in the corporate, government, and weather risk-management sectors, where he assisted corporations and government agencies in assessing their exposure to natural and man-made catastrophes and in developing plans to manage and transfer those risks. Since the introduction of catastrophe bonds, he has led AIR’s modeling support for insurance-linked securities and was directly involved in more than 20 of the insurance industry’s landmark securitization transactions.

Before joining AIR, Mr. Lee held senior executive positions at several leading information technology companies. A former U.S. Navy officer, Mr. Lee holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master of business administration degree from Stanford Business School.
