Kevin B. Thompson, senior vice president, heads ISO’s Insurance Services Department, the unit that develops ISO’s core products and services. Insurance Services produces advisory loss costs (projections of future claims), policy forms, and underwriting rules, along with related information products most insurers use to write one or more lines of commercial or personal business in one or more jurisdictions.
Under Mr. Thompson’s leadership, Insurance Services has expanded lines of business through its specialty commercial lines department. His unit has been instrumental in the development of ISO's various scoring models for underwriting personal and commercial insurance policies.
Mr. Thompson joined ISO in 1974 as an actuarial assistant in commercial casualty actuarial and held a series of increasingly responsible positions in the division until his appointment as assistant vice president and actuary in 1986. In 1996, he was promoted to vice president of standard commercial lines, responsible for commercial auto, commercial fire and allied lines, and general liability. He later became head of personal lines. In 2003, he was promoted to senior vice president.
Mr. Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from New York University and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. |
